Just recently bought this and so far love it!,
One of my favorite things about this blender is the storage case that was included with it and that it is built perfectly for all the attachments. (Plan on posting pictures of this later on) Also love the simplistic design for the control. There are two settings, one that leaves the blender on and one that is used as a pulse and stops after you stop twisting. The other problem faced by the other reviewer with having trouble attaching the bowl to the base is solved rather easily. The processor comes with a safety feature (one I find nice to have) that doesn’t allow you to start the machine with the lid not attached to the bowl. The only problem this creates is it does not allow you to attach the bowl with the lid on it. This to me is not a big problem at all seeing that once you attach the bowl you must have the lid off anyways to attach the blade or other attachments. I plan on updating this later on down the road after I have used it more.

|Lasted about a year,
I was spell-bound by this machine when I first got it. It could slice things! That got old quickly, though, as it’s much more of a headache to clean the entire machine than a cutting board and a knife. The pieces are not horribly difficult to clean, but they are bulky and have a few hard-to-reach areas. This is not why I’m doing this review, though.
For a whole year, it seemed to do pretty well. I was only using it for chopping parsley or making hummus, both very easy tasks. Once I started using it to make almond butter and flour, it quickly deteriorated. While I was making mayonnaise, the sound of the processor changed. I started to smell burning plastic. When I stopped the machine, it was smoking slightly (There is no place for the smoke to really exhaust itself, so it was sort of leaking out of the engine slowly) and When I moved the processor, I noticed some weird coloring on the counter top. It was metal powder. I checked the Oster website, and it looks like they don’t even sell food processors anymore.

|Great food processor for the price,
This is our first food processor and are pretty impressed. We purchased it for several reasons:
1. Brand name
2. All the different blades it came with
3. Wide-mouth opening
4. Price
After much research and reading a gazillion reviews on units ranging from $40 to $400, we went with this Oster and are not disappointed all at (We have had it now for three months and use it at least 3-4 times a week). We have used all the attachments and they all seem to work pretty well. The motor is super powerful and gets the job done – a touch noisy, but that is a necessarily evil when grinding stuff up! Controls are simple and easy to use. Wide mouth works great for everything we have thrown in there. Bowl attaches easily and firmly into place – getting it off is a little tough, but in the most minor of ways. The unit has great safety devices – will not operate if the bowl AND lid are properly in place AND it will brake itself to a stop if you open it while it is turned on (yes, I did a little bit of experimenting with it!).
The only gripe is the gap between the ram-rod in the opening and the blade itself – it always leaves a little unsliced cheese or whatever between them. Oh well!
Overall, bang for the buck, A+! It is definitely not the best one out there, but for the budget I will take my $300 savings and buy something delicious to grind up in it! Would highly recommend it at this point.
A bonus – the cool storage container for all the blades, very nice!
